Three weeks of school left.  I was not certain when I started, but I am now: I love teaching.  I loved
developing software.  I love a good challenge, I guess.

Yesterday I worked in the yard, preparing it for spraying.  The dogs and the yard are apparently inundated
with fleas.  There is still much work to do before I can spray so I shall be at it again today.  The fence has
held up well: so far there has been not one instance of a dog escaping the fence.  To be sure, both Grace
and Taz have tried, and Sam looks for a place to jump over, but to no avail in any case.  The cats continue to
be contented with their lot in life, although Tiger pines for the outdoors.

[deleted] is anxious to move in, but she still has obligations at home.  I have to take six hours of regular
college work to ensure my status as a certified teacher.  I intend to get that done this summer.  I have also
applied to summer school as a teacher.  It matters not to me if I am chosen to teach this summer or not, but I
basically made myself available.  So far no one has informed me that I am required to take the Praxis exam,
that which is required for some teachers.  There are a couple of teachers at our school who have taken the
Praxis on more than one occasion each, and in both cases the teachers have failed to make the minimum
required score.  They are working on a provisional basis.  I hear that the test is very difficult; it sounds like
a challenge I would enjoy.

Five days of school left.  I have been busy with the new job and all of its challenges; taking care of the
animals and the house and all that those entail; and [deleted] is planning to move toward the end of this
month.  I surely am looking forward to the break from school so that I can get caught up.  There is much
work to be done on the house and the yard; I have college courses to take in order to keep my teaching
certificate viable; and I am in need of a good rest.  Right now I am in the throws of an awful head cold, and
even though the weekend is here, I doubt that I shall get much work done now.  Cliff should be coming for a
visit soon, and another friend from years back may also make an excursion to Riverbend before long.

Ah, life!  Where would we be without it?

May 21 (Saturday) 9:07 am

Wednesday will be our "last" day at school for the 2010-11 school year.  I have heard through the
"grapevine" that I shall be teaching summer school.  I've received no official notification, but it sounds like
a good idea to me.  I like to stay busy, and although I have many chores to do around the house, and I need
time to get them done, I like the idea of spending a few hours a day practicing my chosen profession.  In
addition, I must find a way to complete six hours of regular college work.  My life is very full right now, and
for that I am very grateful.

The crew is doing well.  Fleas are in abundance, but I have a couple gallons of concentrate with which to
spray the yard whenever I can find the time to do that.

May 28 (Saturday) 11:17 am

Summer school starts next Tuesday, and I shall be there.  I shall have only this weekend including Monday
to rest up.  Summer school will last only for one month, and the class day last only from 7:30 am to around
1:00.

Buddy is suffering terribly from "hot spots."  I got him an allergy shot a month ago, but it has done no good.
Hopefully I can find some relief for him soon.

Personally I experienced a couple of weeks of something akin to flu, with fever, a sore throat, coughing,
sneezing, etc.  I appear to be mostly over it, but I still have a nasty cough.
