This photo appeared on the front page of the Daily Journal of Tupelo, Mississippi, along with a nice article announcing
the publication of my book.  The book, entitled Critter Chronicles, is a compilation of articles I wrote for our local
newspaper.  The stories are mostly about the dogs and cats I have rescued, but many of the stories reveal little known,
yet very interesting facts regarding some very famous animals.
I have not always cared much about the welfare of others; but in recent years something has gotten into me in such a
way that I have found myself rescuing vagabonds, mostly of the canine and feline variety.
Buddy was certainly a tough
nut to crack, and I stalked him for three years before finally corralling him.  In that time he exacted much pain and
misery on my hands and arms, but today he is the most cuddly, loving kitty ever!
Here I am at a book signing/fund raiser that recently took place at our local Arby's.  Arby's is
very much involved in raising funds for the local animal shelter.
Sometimes when you do book signings and fund raisers you are required to hold babies.  In this particular case,
however, I am visiting friends at Thanksgiving, and little Benjamin decided to spend some time with me.
I make regular excursions to our local Farmer's Market, which is located on Shiloh Road.
Butter beans, okra, home-grown tomatoes, squash, and purple hull peas are my usual fare.

Way Too Much Information ...

I did graduate from Haughton High School; Haughton, Louisiana; Class of 1972.
I did graduate from Hyles-Anderson College; Crown Point Indiana; Class of 1981.
I did graduate from LSU; Class of 1990.
I did teach high school and college math, as well as computer science for a number of years.
I was a software engineer for 10 years, retiring in August of 2009.
I am currently self-employed; doing whatever meets my fancy; driving my tractor;
taking care of my rescued vagabonds; enjoying my beautiful 16 acres;
smoking my expensive cigars; and writing my
stories.

In the meantime I taught myself the fine art and technical expertise of software design and implementation.
I have developed several fully-functional applications that are in use all over the United States.  My biggest
project was a suite of fund accounting software, which is currently in use in several school districts in the
state of Mississippi.
