I have been involved in software engineering since 1990.  I have
developed an entire suite of fund accounting software, which is in use
around the state of Mississippi.  Other applications I have developed
include a time clock program, a collections program, and a billing program.
I graduated from
Haugton High School
in Haughton,
Louisiana in 1972
and eventually
received my B.S.
from LSU in Baton
Rouge, where I
majored in math
education.  I also
took computer
science classes at
the University of
Memphis.
BORN IN CORINTH,
MISSISSIPPI
, I grew up in
Louisiana but eventually
moved back to Corinth.  In
between Louisiana and
Corinth I have lived in
Arkansas and Indiana and
even Texas.  But I have lived
most of my life in Louisiana
and Mississippi.  Alas, I am an
LSU Tiger, graduating from
there with a B.S. in math
education in 1990.
My favorite
historical people
would be  Winston
Churchill, Abraham
Lincoln, Benjamin
Franklin, George
Washington Carver,
and Leonard Euler.
My favorite athletes
would be Walter
Payton and Larry
Bird (Alas, there are
none to compare to
them).
I live on 16 1/2 acres in
rural Alcorn County,
Mississippi, where I have a
brick house, lots of trees,
dogs and cats, and plenty
of peace and privacy.  I cut
my own firewood from my
own trees, eat peaches
that grow from my own
peach trees, grapes that
grow from my own grape
vines, figs that grow on
my own fig trees, pecans
that grow on my own
pecan trees, blackberries
from my own blackberry
vines, and poke salad
(sometimes).  I also catch
catfish, bass, or bream
from my two-acre pond,
while watching deer graze
contentedly in the
meadows on the yonder
side!
This photo appeared on the front page of the Daily Journal of
Tupelo, Mississippi, along with a nice article announcing the
publication of my book.
Buddy was certainly a tough nut to crack, but today he is the most cuddly, loving kitty ever!
Here I am at a book signing/fund raiser that recently took place at our local Arby's.  Arby's is
very much involved in raising funds for the local
animal shelter.
Sometimes when you do book signings and fund raisers you are required to
hold babies.  In this particular case, however, I am visiting friends at
Thanksgiving, and little Benjamin decided to spend some time with me.
I make regular excursions to our local Farmer's Market, which is located on Shiloh Road.
Butter beans, okra, home-grown tomatoes, squash, and purple hull peas are my usual fare.
