| There are two Schools of Thought: the Old School and the New School. I am of the Old School. I believe that as long as it is the law of the land, one should pay all due taxes. I believe in a strong national defense and minimal government interference. I recognize the value of compromise. I would compromise my opinions but never my convictions. I have few convictions. I believe that anyone who is unwilling to take the responsibility that comes with having a child should either abstain from sex or use birth control. Furthermore, I sincerely espouse the philosophy: one man, one woman. One should only engage in sexual intercourse with a committed partner. Furthermore, one should engage in sexual intercourse with a committed partner. We should not let people starve or go homeless. However, I am opposed to supporting someone who won't make an effort to help himself. It's a cold attitude, but there it is. We should make a reasonable effort to supplement a person who works hard but cannot afford essential services such as medical care. In case you haven't noticed I live with a lot of dogs and cats. I could not live without them, nor they without me. I believe that I have an obligation to care for any creature that cannot care for itself. I live with more cats and dogs than most people, but I do have the reasonable wherewithal to care for them properly. To me they are family, and I love each one. I think I might try to do physical harm to someone who would do physical harm to or otherwise neglect another creature. I am conservative, but I am open-minded. By open-minded I do not mean promiscuous. I am a free-thinker. I abhor preconceived notions, although I have them. When I discover them within myself I root them out. I do not believe in "free sex." I don't believe in free anything. I would rather crawl in sick than call in sick. I don't believe anyone wakes up with an attitude to do wrong. Criminally minded people are taught to be that way. I do believe that a person should be held accountable for his own actions. I am generally opposed to the death penalty. I believe that all death penalty cases should be changed to life without the possibility of parole. More people should have fewer children. Almost no one knows how to rear a child properly. Expel incorrigible students from school and you will solve behavioral issues in the school system. Stop assigning suspended sentences, and send people to jail for the maximum designated time, and you will stop crime in this country. Stop awarding social benefits to high school dropouts, and the dropout rate will decline. The people of the United States are some of the most generous that have ever existed in the history of the earth. Were it not for the United States the world would still be embroiled in world war against the Nazis. Were it not for the British people we would all be marching to the beat of a Nazi jackboot. The many allies that the United States and the British had during WWII deserve their due credit. I do not believe in sending women to areas of military risk. I am opposed to putting women on the front lines. I am a traditionalist. I believe a man should open the door for a woman, help her with her coat, and walk on the curb side. One should never, never, never criticize his or her spouse or significant other, either in public or in private. Almost all men get married for the wrong reason: free sex. Soon after getting married they realize their mistake. Do not try to change someone's character flaws. So doing may result in the changing of that person's character virtues. Beware of someone who always tells the truth. The best liars tell the truth more than anyone else. The rapport they build and the credibility they establish comprise a very effective shield, behind which to disseminate their falsehood. Almost everyone says he believes in the maxim, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. " Almost no one believes in this maxim. The following is attributed to Abraham Lincoln: "I believe a person is as happy as he makes up his mind to be." The following is attributed to George Washington Carver: "Do the best you can with what you have, and do it now." The following is attributed to George Washington Carver: "If a cow can turn green grass into white milk, so can I." |
