Apple Trees

Here is a job before we started. There are two apple trees on either side of the arbor, and they must be cut down.
This is some of what we must deal with. There are earthen planters and wicker furniture in the way. We must cut down the trees and clean up without causing damage to the property.
This is another bit of trouble we must look out for. When we finish, this place will look clean as a whistle.

The Stump Busters crew spent the Winter Solstice, 2009, amongst the apple trees at a residence in Corinth, Mississippi. |
The chips really fly with Kenny at the helm of the stump grinder.
The Stihl takes a break from its many exertions on one of the trees.
Kenny's beautiful wife, Kim, chipped in with the cleanup.
My friend, Cliff, got in some much needed exercise, pitching in to help. Here he is pushing an empty wheel barrow, which moments before had been carrying several large pieces of the trunk of the tree.
Cleanup can be sweaty, grueling work, as attested by the exertions of Kenny and Cliff.
Here Kenny demonstrates the proper technique for "chopping down" a pile of brush. The pile must be chopped down in order to make room to load the entire bunch on the trailer.
Both trees fit cleanly on the trailer.
Kenny giving final instructions on the cleanup. Job well done!
